Dr. Antonis Ioannou worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the clinic laboratory of world-renowned Professor George Tsokos, at Harvard Medical School engaged in cutting-edge research into the effect of the immune system on tissue damage after an ischemic attack.

Dr. Antonis Ioannou received his degree in Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Crete where he continued as a postgraduate student and specialized in Cellular and Genetic Etiology, Diagnostic and Therapeutic of Human Diseases. He received his master’s degree in 2011 with distinction. He continued his postgraduate studies at Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral researcher at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, completing his dissertation on the effect of the immune system on tissue necrosis after ischemic injury. He received his PhD from the Medical School of the University of Crete in 2015. He completed his specialty in Cardiology at the Nicosia General Hospital.
